We left Granada this morning and headed to the quaint Mediterranean town of Mija for a little shopping and exploring. Mijas is up at elevation, so it overlooks the Sea and has stunning views. Then we headed down to our hotel on the beach in Torremolinos! The students spent the afternoon at the beach and pool just relaxing. After dinner our tour manager Luis took us out for ice cream and then the students walked the boardwalk along the beach as the evening wound down. That’s a wrap folks. We are flying out in the morning. All good things must come to an end. We had a blast. Everyone is healthy and happy. Great memories. See you all soon :)

Granada

Today, we left Seville and drove to Granada. We split up for lunch, free time, and shopping. The students are pros now when it comes to navigating a city all on their own! After lunch we went to the Alhambra and Generalife gardens/complex, one of the main highlights of the trip, for a guided tour. The Moors controlled the Iberian Peninsula for 800 years and Granada was the last city to fall to the Catholics. The Alhambra represents the pinnacle of the Moorish achievements, and of course it was modified and expanded once the Catholics took control. It’s hard to describe it, but some people feel it should be one of the “wonders of the world.” It’s amazing. We left the Alhambra by bus and went directly to our evening events. First we had flamenco lessons, then we ate dinner, and finally we watched a real professional flamenco show! On our way back to our hotel by bus, we stopped at a lookout to take in the views of the city and the Alhambra at night. By the time we got back to the hotel i...

Seville

Today was a nice day. We started with a low key morning. Everyone awoke at their leisure and had breakfast. We went on a bus tour of the city and then did a walking tour. From there we went to the Cathedral and after our tour we all climbed to the top of the church tower! Then we broke up into groups for lunch, shopping, and free time. We met again in the afternoon for a bike tour. The students experienced riding in city bike lanes and beautiful parks. We ended up at the Plaza de España again. We rehydrated and took a few photos. Then it was back to the hotel for more free time, and swimming in the hotel’s rooftop pool! After cleaning up we enjoyed a special paella dinner. We packed up as we are headed to Granada tomorrow morning. Partial photo dumb below, more to come :)

Córdoba

This is an alternative type post tonight. I am going to write less. Below is just a quick photo dump from Luis’ and my cameras. He’s a better photographer of people and I get lost in taking landscape shots as a hobby. Anyhow, here are a few from our guide and me from today. It was a simple day. We had a long bus transfer. So we had breakfast, drove half way to Córdoba, took a bathroom/snack break, drove the second half to Córdoba, walked over the bridge to town, had a quick lunch, toured of the Catedral Mesquita (the focus of the stop), had more free time, rode the bus to Seville, checked into our hotel, had dinner, walked the town at night, and finally went to bed. Tomorrow, we will be enjoying this lovely town of Seville. More to come tomorrow night. Adios :)
